STOP Putting Patients First
As a practice manager, are you putting your patients first?
It’s time to stop — and start putting your team first. Not your patients. Not your doctors. Your team!
Hear us out…
Nobody puts your team first … but YOU CAN … and it will make a world of difference in the way your practice runs.
What about the patients?
When you prioritize your team, they will prioritize your patients and doctors.
The benefits of a team-first approach will astound you.
You can expect:
- Empowered team members. Feeling seen, cared for and prioritized empowers them to take ownership of their role and make decisions. (Yes, they’re still going to mess up and that’s okay.)
- Less turnover. When your team members feel valued, they’ll stick around!
- More unity. Your actions will literally put everyone on the same team.
- A happier workplace culture. They’ll be happier going to work — and so will you!
- A team that works harder. Aware that you’re their number one fan, they will work harder for the practice.
When you are there for them, they show up for you, take their jobs more seriously and take your feedback to heart.
Stop putting patients first and start putting your team first
Lay down the law. My most important job as practice manager is to put our team first so they can put patients first. The doctors need to know this and feel comfortable with this so that this team-first approach can become part of your culture.
What does putting your team first look like? Great Practice Design has a product that lays everything out for you. When you put your team first, everybody wins. A happier team means a more motivated team. A more motivated team means better customer service and happier patients.
